Halifax Town Council will hold its monthly work session this afternoon
beginning at 5:30 p.m. in Town Hall. Members of the Current Affairs
Committee will hear a recommendation from Town Planners to adopt the
town's Comprehensive plan following the public hearing which is
scheduled for Council's regular Tuesday night meeting on July 10 at
7:30 p.m.
Members will also consider a request for a sepical use permit which
will allow  a home occupation business to operate within the R-1
residential zone of the town. Members also will get an update on the
fiber optic project construction schedule as well as that of the
Department of Housing and Community Development planning grant award.
Finance panel members will get a preliminary look at the June finance
report and hear more about the removal of the downtown water tank and
the Town's telecommunicatons lease.
