Employees of a downtown business, Hodges Jewel Box, suffered a scare on
Tuesday afternoon when a male subject barged into the business, making
threats. The man soon left the store and South Boston police officers
responded to the scene.
When officers arrived, they found the man standing outside the store,
waiting for help. They took him into custody and arranged to have him
meet with counselors at the Southside Community Services Board. The
man, whose identity was withheld by police officers, was charged with
public drunkenness.
South Boston Police officers are still investigating the death of 19
year old Timothy J. Marshall of South Boston whose body was found in
the driveway of Greens Folly Golf Course this past Sunday morning.
Captain B. K. Lovelace said yesterday that the State Medical Examiner
had determined that Marshall died of a single stab wound to the upper
chest.
"There are still so many things we don't know yet," said Lovelace,
noting that questions remain as to where the stabbing might have taken
place and how the man's body ended up in the driveway of the golf
course. "We are busy chasing down all leads, hoping to have some
answers to these questions and to find out who may have been involved
in Marshall's death," Lovelace said.
