The Halifax County Sheriff's Department is investigating the theft of
physical education equipment from Meadville Elementary School where the
storage shed was broken into late Thursday night, February 7 or early
the next morning, Friday, February 8. Deputy Sam Gilliam is heading up
the investigation of the theft of the school's kick balls, soccer balls
and basketballs which were taken from the building. The storage
building was also sprayed with blue spray paint, as was the basketball
court.
Gilliam is also investigating the theft of dirt bike on Tuesday,
February 12. The red and white Honda CRF 100F dirt bike was taken from
a shed at the home of Mike Nichols on Turkey Run Road, Halifax.
