MONDAY ACCIDENT —Investigating Virginia State Trooper Gary Gilliam
charged Lonnie Betterton of Climax Road, Chatham with failure to
maintain control of his vehicle when the 2001 International dump
truck,
owned by A.L. Morris, overturned as it approached the intersection
of
US 58 and 360 around 9:55 a.m. Monday morning. The truck was
carrying a
load of broken up asphalt when it came around the curve and
overturned, dumping contents along the roadway. Betterton suffered
minor injuries, but was not transported for treatment. Damages to
the
