A Halifax County resident was hospitalized this week after receiving stab
wounds in an altercation at a Caswell County, NC nightclub.
Travis Jennings, 21, was one of four people who received knife wounds during
a melee at the Semora establishment, Club Future, located at the old Flaming
Star building on Highway 199-N. Jennings, who has worked at the club in the
past as a bouncer, was there Saturday night as a patron, said Sgt. Clayton
Myers, an investigator with the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office.
Jennings suffered eight stab wounds, most seriously in the stomach, said
Myers, who briefly interviewed the victim this weekend at Halifax Regional
Hospital. As of Tuesday Jennings was still hospitalized.
Sgt. Myers said the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office is “seeking a person of
interest” but so far no charges have been filed in the incident.
“There were four people treated for knife wounds. Some were cut and some
were stabbed. It was a big melee,” said Myers.
Myers said alcohol played a role in the incident, which unfolded around 2
a.m. Sunday as some 150 people were still at the nightclub. He said there
was no history of serious violence at the Club Future.
Jennings lived in Boydton until about three years ago and now resides in
Halifax County and works in Roxboro, NC. Family sources said his wounds were
non-threatening but serious and the circumstances surrounding the attack are
still largely unclear.
