A 65 year old Crystal Hill man, Henry Burch, was stabbed on Saturday morning, April 5, 2008 while at a residence on Chisholm Trail, located in the Liberty community. Burch suffered with stab wounds to the neck and chin from a broken beer bottle. Deputy J. O. Tanner responded to a call at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chishold Trail, but the victim had left the scene of the crime and was driving himself to the local emergency room for treatment. Deputies intercepted Burch near the parking lot of Wachovia Bank in Centerville and had him transported for treatment by the Rescue Squad. Tanner arrested 21 year old Perry Pointer of Chisholm Trail, charging him with the malicious wounding of Burch. According to Tanner, who was the first officer on the scene, Pointer fled the house where he and Burch had gotten into an altercation. Also present was Pointer's mother.
