South Boston Town Council on Monday night appointed three citizens to
serve on the Board of Viewers to decide if a request from Mrs. Jenny
Wilkins to close an unopened alleyway behind her home in Merritt Hills
would inconvenience the public.
Mrs. Wilkins told Town Council members that she wanted to acquire the
land and extend her paved driveway back that way.
No one spoke in opposition to the request and the viewers will bring
back a recommendation to Council at their next meeting. Named to serve
on the Board of Viewers were Ann Crabtree, Buddy Wilborn and Aubrey
Houghton.
