South Boston is offering curbside cleanup to residents during October. 
The Town will be picking up in two sections this year.  Everyone on the
west side of Highway 501 must have their trash out before Monday,
October 15.  The Town will pick up on the west side of Highway 501 from
October 15-19.  Residents on the east side of Highway 501 must have
their trash out before Monday, October 22.  The Town will pick up on
the east side of Highway 501 from October 22-26.  Only one trip will be
made to each street and no exceptions will be made for return trips.
We will pick up almost anything that two men can lift that is
non-hazardous and disposable in the landfill.  This includes yard and
tree trimmings, brush, leaves, appliances, furniture and other
non-hazardous items.  Brush and tree trimmings must be cut in sections
not more than four (4) feet in length for collection.  Building
demolition and construction debris will not be collected.  All items
must be placed by curb.  Do not place discarded items near light poles,
fences, trees, etc.
