County Planners will meet on Tuesday evening, February 26, beginning
with a 7 p.m. public hearing on a request for a conditional use permit
from Gene Comer and Kathy Brown to operate a general contracting office
on the west side of Loftis Road about a quarter mile south of its
intersection with Whitlow Trail.
In other action the Commission is expected to discuss the pros and cons
of designating agricultural and forestal districts in the county, a
subject that has come to the forefront over the past several years,
particularly with the assessments of farm land rising.
Commissioners are also expected to recommend that three public hearings
for conditional use permits be scheduled for their March 25 meeting.
Those applications come from Lee Rexrode, Jr. and Tom McElhone who want
to have an automotive garage and excavating office on the east side of
LP Bailey Memorial Highway near its intersection with Jimmy's Trail;
another from Korey R. Snead seeking to develop a commercial composting
operation of the south side of South Terry's Bridge Road at its
intersection with Easley Crossing Trail and the third from Brian C.
Hitcher who wants to have a motorcross and ATV practice facility on the
southeast side of East Hyco Road, south of its intersection with Cherry
Hill Church Road.
