Four public hearings on tap for planners

Halifax Couny Planners have four public hearings scheduled for their meeting tomorrow night in the second floor meeting room of the Mary Bethune Compex .Five hearings had earlier been advertised but a request

for a conditional use permit in ED#1 made by Lee Rexrode, Jr. and Tom McElhone for an automotive garage and excavating office has been withdrawn. In ED#5 Korey R. Snead is seeking a conditional use permit which would
allow for a commercial composting operation on the south side of South Terryís Bridge Road (Route 613) at its intersection with Easley Crossing Trail (Route 914). Also in ED#5 County Supervisors are requesting a conditional use permit which would allow them to develop an RV campground on the east side of Plywood Trail, some two-tenths mile south of its intersection with US Route 360. Claude Allen Haynes is requesting a conditional use permit in ED#6 to allow for an outdoor amusement/entertainment area for a musical festival. The site for his application is on the south side of Kerns Mill Road, about one mile east of its intersection with Hackberry Road. And the final hearing focuses on a request from Brian C. Hitchon in ED#7 for a motorcross and ATV practice facility to be located on the
southeast side of East Hyco Road, about six-tenth miles south of its intersection with Cherry Hill Church Road.
Planners will also be asked to set two public hearings for their next meeting in April. The first of those requests comes from Albert R. and Mary Y. Vaughan who are seeking a rezoning of property on the northwest
corner of Huell Matthews Highway and Memorial Drive. The second request comes from SBA Towers II, LLC which is seeking an extension of an already approved conditional use permit in ED#5. The location for that request lies on the south side of Bellevue Road, some two-tenths mile east of its intersection with US Route 360.
