Mrs. Millie Keatts Bradley
Mrs. Millie Keatts Bradley, 85, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at
South Boston Manor. She was born January 28, 1922 in Halifax County,
daughter of the late Samuel Keatts and Martha Hughes Keatts and was
married to the late Leslie Simmie "Frog" Bradley, Jr. She was a member
of First Baptist Church and a retired employee of JP Stevens.
She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Bradley of South Boston; one son,
Herman L. "Pete" Bradley of Mechanicsville; three sisters, Edna Belbin
of Kensington, MD and Mabel Culberson of Elkin, NC, Rosa Keatts of
Danville; two grandchildren, Stephen Bradley and Brian Bradley and four
great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in
death by four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 14 at 2:00 p.m. at
Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Pyle officiating. Burial
will follow in Catawba Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will
receive friends tonight from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home.
James Hugh Hudnell
James Hugh Hudnell, also known as "Mr. H", age 83, of 77 Parkview
Circle, Roxboro, NC, died Sunday, December 9, 2007 at the Roxboro
Nursing Center. He was born in Williamsburg, SC, the son of Francis
Alvin Hudnall and Marie Wingate Hudnall, and was married to the late
Cathyren Fisher Hudnell for 59 years. He was a veteran of the US Army,
fought in the D-day invasion with the 2nd Ranger Battalion, and
received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of
the WWII Ranger Battalions Association, the American Legion Post 342 in
Nathalie, VA, and the Person Masonic Lodge 113.
Surviving are two sons, James Ronald Hudnell of Winston-Salem, Louis
Wayne Hudnell of Greenville, and one daughter, Carolyn Harper of
Raleigh. He is also survived by four brothers, one sister, six
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 16 at 3:00 p.m. at
Brooks & White Funeral Home, Roxboro, NC with burial to follow in
Person Memorial Cemetery with Masonic Rites and US Military Honors.

Mr. Charles R. Loyd
Mr. Charles R. Loyd, 72, died November 30, 2007 at Saddleback Hospital,
Laguna Woods, CA. He was born in Halifax County on September 14, 1935,
son of the late Charlie T. Loyd and Luvinia R. Hicks. He was married
to Eva Puertas Loyd.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Matt F. Loyd and wife
Laura and children Shelby and Taylor of Florence, KY; three brothers,
Shirley E. Loyd and family of Roxboro, NC, Bobby L. Loyd and family of
South Boston and Eugene D. Loyd and family of South Boston.
A Mass will be held on December 15 at Catholic Church in Laguna Woods,
CA.
