Mr. Marion "Gabby" Lee Hayes
Mr. Marion "Gabby" Lee Hayes, 70, of 1069 West Oak Hill Drive, Halifax
died Monday, June 18, 2007 at Halifax Regional Hospital.  He was born
in Mecklenburg County on October 11, 1936, a son of the late Lonnie
Hayes and Janie Mulchi Hayes and was married to Marie Conner Hayes.  He
was a member of Southside Baptist Church, a Navy veteran and a member
of Hyco Hunting Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Janice  Wallace and husband Prince, Jr. of Halifax, Lynn Conner and husband
Johnnie, Jr. and Tracy Carmichael and husband Harold, all of South
Boston; five grandchildren, Brandy, Jason and Sarah Wallace,
Christopher and Mary Beth Carmichael; one sister, Judy Profitt of
Goochland County; two brothers, Lawrence Hayes of Chase City and Wayne
Hayes of Richmond.
Funeral services will be held today at 2:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home
with Rev. Don Bryant officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Ridge
Cemetery.

Pamela Fallen  Blackstock
Pamela Fallen  Blackstock, 50, of Weber City died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at
Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital.  She was born September 9, 1956 in
Halifax County, a daughter of Christine Fallen and the late O.P.
Fallen, Jr.  She was a graduate of Halifax County High School, Radford
College and taught elementary school in Halifax and Scott Counties. 
She was married to Bob Blackstock and was a member of Community
Fellowship Baptist Church, Gate City.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by a son, Daniel
of Gate City; aunts, Carolyn, Diana, Janice, Margaret, Mary, Mabel and
Thelma and uncles, Leonard, John, Clayton, Carleton.
Funeral services were held Monday at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor John
Sheppard.  Burial followed Wednesday at Providence Presbyterian Church,
Nathalie.  Memorials may be directed to Community Fellowship Baptist
Church, P.O. Box 1407, Gate City, VA 24251.


Mr. Harold Dean Womack
Mr. Harold Dean Womack, 44, of 5188 Howard P. Anderson Road, Halifax
died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at his home.  He was born September 3,
1962, a son of Howard C. Womack and Nancy Spainhour Matherly and was of  the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Martin Womack; four step-sons,  Cecil Cash and wife Joni of Crystal Hill, Frankie Cash and wife Donna,  Randy Cash and wife Wendy, all of Nathalie and Darryl Cash and wife
Beth of Scottsburg; one sister, Christine W. Quesenberry of Roxboro,
NC; and one nephew, Michael Womack of Roxboro, NC; two great-nephews,
and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.  He
was preceded in death by a step-son, Marvin Cash. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.  Memorials may  be directed to the Halifax County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 183, South  Boston, VA 24592.


Mrs. Ethel Wilmouth Wilborne
Mrs. Ethel Wilmouth Wilborne of Duluth, GA died Sunday, June 17, 2007. 
She was born December 11, 1913 in Halifax County, a daughter of the
late Oscar Thomas Wilmouth and Etta Gravitt Wilmouth and was married to
Burnis Harvey Wilborne.
She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth W. Chandler; a grandchild,
Judith C. Gregoire and a great-grandchild, Danielle Elizabeth Gregoire
of Duluth, GA and three sisters, June Williams, Ophelia Epps and Garnet
Mills.  She was preceded in death by three sisters, Myrtle Wilbourne,
Mary Ford and Virginia Dixon and three brothers, Craddock, Fenton and
Tom Wilmouth. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 23 at 11:00 a.m. at  Bethel Hill Baptist Church, Roxboro, NC.NOTE OF THANKS
