Timothy Jerome Marshall
Mr. Timothy Jerome Marshall of 312 E. Bishop Drive, South Boston
died
Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the age of 19. Born in Halifax County
on
August 1, 1988, he was the son of Ms. Shirley Marshall.
Mr. Marshall is survived by his mother of the home, his birth
mother,
Ms. Linda Henderson, his grandmother, Ms. Juanita Marshall of
Halifax,
five brothers, Bryn, Tony, Mike, Eric and Judge Henderson, all of
Halifax and seven sisters, Hannah, Niki, Kiki, Sandra, Roshia, Alia
and
Malia, all of Halifax, eight uncles, seven aunts, a special friend,
Ms.
Ceceli Edmonds and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service for Mr. Marshall will be held on Friday, February
29,
2008 at 1 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Chruch with Rev. Willie N. Yancey
officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family
will
receive friends at the home, 312 E. Bishop Drive, South Boston.
Eliza Reese Ferguson
Eliza Reese Ferguson, infant daughter of John William Ferguson and
Leslie Aileen Kendrick of Halifax, died at birth Saturday, February
23,
2008 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandparents,
Bill
and Diane Ferguson of Vernon Hill and Wayne and Patricia Kendrick of
Nathalie; her great-grandparents, Cynthia C. Kendrick of Nathalie
and
Aubrey and Myrna Lewis of Halifax; her aunts and uncles, Kristy and
Chad Myers, Maggie Kendrick and Amy and Maggie Ferguson. She was
preceded in death by a brother, Mason William Ferguson and her
grandfather, Howard Mitchell Kendrick.
Graveside services will be held today at 2:00 p.m. at Providence
Presbyterian Church with Rev. Paul Rowles officiating.
Mildred Price Thomas
Mildred Price Thomas, 79, of 109 Royce Circle, McLeansville, NC died
Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Halifax Regional Hospital. She was
born
in Reidsville, NC on September 20, 1928, a daughter of the late
William
Harrison Price and Mary Boaz Craddock Price and was married to the
late
Morris Thomas. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Reagan of South Boston and
Jackie Lynn Cangus and husband Mike of Greensboro, NC; two sons,
Dennis
Ray Conner and wife Denise of Browns Summit, NC and Timothy Lamar
Kincaid of McLeansville, NC; a sister, Mary Thaxton of South Boston;

grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death
by a son, Terry Lee Kincaid.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel
with
Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. Burial followed in Shady Grove U.M.C.
Cemetery.
Mary Moore Lamond Tanner
Mary Moore Lamond Tanner, 60, of Mosley, died February 21, 2008 at
Saint Francis Hospital in Midlothian. She was born May 6, 1947 in
Halifax County, a daughter of the late Dallas S. Moore and Maria
Wood
Moore and was married to Frank Tanner. Mrs. Tanner was a retired
Assistant Librarian for the Virginia State Library in Richmond.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters,
Katherine
Smith and husband Darrell of Powhathan and April Barnett and husband
John of Mosley; three grandchildren; two brothers, Rob Moore of
Vernon
Hill and David Moore of Austin, TX; three sisters, Barbara Stevens
of
South Boston, Elizabeth Barbee of Spartanburg, SC and Virginia Smith
of
Halifax. Memorial services will be held March 1 at 11:00 a.m. at
Centenary
United Methodist Church, Chesterfield, with Rev. Henry Riley, Jr.
officiating. Memorials may be directed to: SPCA, 2529 Hermitage
Road,
Richmond, VA 23220 or a charity of your choice.
