Mrs. Mary Sue Bradley Church
Mrs. Mary Sue Bradley Church of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Halifax, died Sunday, December 10, 2006 at her home. Born February 12, 1932 in Halifax County, she was 74 at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Richard T. Bradley and Nannie Reaves Bradley and was married to the late Crawford Eugene “Mac” Church. She was a member of Dan River Baptist Church.
Mrs. Church is survived by three daughters, Angela C. Williams and husband, Larry of Vero Beach, FL, Anita Gay C. Short of Vero Beach, FL and Susan C. Hodges and husband, Rick of Vero Beach, FL, a brother, Carl Bradley of Halifax, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, a son, Daniel T. Church and her parents.
A graveside service will be held at Halifax Memorial Gardens on Friday, December 15 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Doug Gibson officiating. Visitation will be held at Powell Funeral from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ms. Clara Elizabeth Kirkland Akinleye, 50, of Richmond died Monday, December 4, 2006 at Chippenham Medical Center, Richmond. She was born in Danville on August 2, 1956, a daughter of Mrs. Carrie Dixon Barley and the late Charlie Barley. She was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Richmond.
In addition to her mother, she is survived
by one son, Stephenson Akinleye; two sisters, Erdine Walker of Nathalie and
Delores Logan of Java; one brother, Charles Barley of Nathalie, other relatives
and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday,
December 9 at Dunn and Sons Funeral Home and Gravel Hill Baptist Church,
Richmond, on Friday.
Mrs. Kathryn Bowden Knutti
Mrs. Kathryn Bowden Knutti, 81, of 103
Rosehill Drive, South Boston died Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at The Woodview.
She was born in Niles, OH on January 26, 1925, a
daughter of the late William Bowden and Julia Layden Bowden and was
married to the late Robert F. Knutti. She
was a member of First Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Robert B.
Knutti of South Boston and Randall W. Knutti of Columbus, OH; two
daughters-in-law, Jenny Knutti of South Boston and Heather Rice of Columbus, OH;
grandchildren, Patricia K. Knutti, Michael R. Knutti and Lauren T. Knutti.
Graveside services were held Saturday,
December 9 at Halifax Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dr. Tim Cannon officiating.

Belt Dallas
Mr. Singleton Belt Dallas, 92, of the
Hunting Creek community died Saturday, December 9, 2006 at The Woodview. Born in
Halifax County on July 19, 1914, he was a retired tobacco farmer, a Navy veteran
and a member of Hunting Creek Baptist Church.
Mr. Dallas is survived by one brother, Edd
N. Dallas of Richmond and a sister, Joyce Dallas Wilson Clark of Galax. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Nola Gay Nichols Dallas and Leavert Dallas, a
sister, Sara Dallas Todd and five brothers, Joel Bomar Dallas, Hampton F.
Dallas, Eldred “Dick” Dallas, Aylor Dallas and L. V. Dallas, Jr.
