Sharon Terry Miller
Sharon Terry Miller, 50, of 1120 Union Grove
Road, South Boston died November 20, 2006, at South Boston Manor. She
was born in Halifax County on December 16, 1955, to Wallace Terry Sr.
and Cecil Harris Terry, and was first married to Walter Jerome Miller
and later to Theodore E. Johnson. She was a member of New Vernon
Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, DeShaye Terry of Riverside, Calif., Andre
Miller of Woodbridge, Tymothy Johnson and Rondale Johnson, both of New
Orleans, La.; her parents of South Boston; one sister, Evon Terry of
South Boston; two brothers, Wallace Terry Jr. of Clinton, Md. and Gary
Terry of South Boston; one daughter-in-law, Crissundra Terry of
Riverside; one sister-in-law, Magalene Terry of Clinton, Md.; and five
grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ms. Miller will be held tomorrow, November 25, at
1 p.m. at New Vernon Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Roger Ford
officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Mattie Venable Williams
Mattie Venable Williams died at Berry Hill
Nursing Home on November 20, 2006. She was born in Halifax on October
29, 1927, to the late John S. Venable and Annie Womack Venable.
Survivors include her husband, Acrea Williams; one daughter, Marion
Carden of Lynchburg; son-in-law, Royal Carden, of Lynchburg; four
sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and other relatives and
friends, including the devoted Stephanie Hubbard of Halifax.
Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be held today, November 24, at
1:30 p.m. at County Line Baptist Church, Vernon Hill. The Rev. Dr.
Otis Dillard will officiate.
Viewing will be from 12:30 until the funeral hour.
Earnest S. Hall Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Earnest S. Hall Jr. will
be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Ellis Creek Baptist Church in
Nathalie with the Rev. Bruce Featherston officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hall, 56, of Gladys, died November 19, in Charlottesville.
He was the son of Louella Stone and the late Earnest Hall Sr.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Kathy
Ferguson Hall of Lynchburg; two sons, Arnesto D. Hall and Akio K. Hall
and wife Sherice of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Clarissa McCullen of
Patterson, N.J.; a step-son Donte Ferguson of Lynchburg; nine
grandchildren; two brothers, George Hillman Sr. and wife Sharon of
Rustburg, and Thomas T. Hall and wife Ivory Martin of Gladys and a
host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
