Obituaries Mr. Frank Bailey Jones
Mr. Frank Bailey Jones, 68, of 1025 Davis Road, Nathalie died
Tuesday,
April 10, 2007 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born in
Halifax
County on June 5, 1938, a son of the late Henry Otey Jones and
Annie
Susan Arendall Jones and was married to Kathy Covington Jones.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Rhonda
J.
Waller and husband Ronnie of Nathalie, Sheila J. Young of
Nathalie;
four grandchildren, Joshua Waller, Carrie Young, Courtney Young,
James
Casey "J.C." Young; one brother, James Eugene "Billy" Jones and
wife
Beatrice of Nathalie; two sisters, Della Beadles and husband Jack
of
Mebane, NC and Myrtle "Gertie" Warren of South Boston; other
relatives
and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13 at
2:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home with Rev. David Dickerson
officiating. Burial will follow
in Liberty United Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will
receive
friends tonight from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Virgie Edmonds Chaney
Mrs. Virgie Edmonds Chaney, 90, of 103 Rosehill Drive, South
Boston
died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at Halifax Regional Hospital. She was
born
in Halifax County on April 24, 1916, a daughter of the late Mr.
Daniel
Edmonds and Mrs. Sallie Terry Edmonds. She was married to the late
Mr.
Joseph Henry Chaney and was a member of St. Paul C.M.E. Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mable Harris of Albany, NY
and
Mrs. Hazel Chandler of Halifax; one son, Mr. Joseph Chaney of
Selkirk,
NY; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sons-in-law, Mr.
Armstead Harris of Albany, NY and Mr. James Chandler of Halifax;
other
relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by three sons,
Mr.
Robert Chaney, Mr. Lewis Chaney and Mr. William Chaney.
Funeral services will be held today at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul C.M.E.
Church with Rev. Billy Cherry officiating. Burial will follow in
the
church cemetery.
