HOUSE FIRE TUESDAY MORNING — South Boston
firefighters brought this
house fire under control Tuesday morning, but not
before the structure
suffered some $35,000 in damages. South Boston
firefighters were called out to 1336 Jeffress Street shortly after
8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning where they found fire coming from a
downstairs apartment. According to Sput Jones of the Fire
Department, the apartment, which is one of four in
the building, suffered some $35,000 in damages along with damages
inflicted to an exterior wall. Thirteen firefighters were on the
scene for some 90 minutes along with four trucks. No cause
of the fire has yet been determined. The apartment house belongs
