A Newport News driver has been charged with failure to obey a traffic
signal following a two car accident which occurred on Halifax Road
Friday afternoon, August 17, 2007 around 2:30 p.m.
John David Buckner, the operator of a 2000 Volkswagen, was traveling
south on Halifax Road when he struck the 2001 Toyota driven by William
Sean Clark of Vernon Hill. Clark was pulling out of the southern most
entrance of Halifax Square Shopping Center when his car was hit.
Buckner and a passenger in his car were transported by the local rescue
squad to Halifax Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. His
vehicle had an estimated $6,500 in damages while Clarkís vehicle
suffered some $2,500 in damages. South Boston Police Officer A. W.
Forbes investigated the accident.
