A 19-year-old Nathalie man was pronounced dead at the scene following
an accident Monday evening on Route 640.
Brandon Wayne Cash was driving alone in a 1991 Chevrolet 1500 pick-up
truck just north of Route 1143 when he lost control of the vehicle and
veered across the road. The truck struck a tree.
Trooper J.K. Kinsley of the Pittsylvania County office of the state
police department and Blairs Rescue Squad responded to the scene.
According to a state police spokesman speed was a factor in the
accident. Cash was not wearing a seat belt.
