Halifax County Planners will meet tomorrow night, Tuesday, July 24 with one
public hearing on their agenda. James D. Anderson, Sr. is seeking a
conditional use permit in ED#2 to operate a tire sales buinsess at 1065 Mill
Road.
A second public hearing on a request for a conditonal use permit in ED$7
filed by Eric D. Wingard has been postpone. Wingard was seeking the permit
to allow for a four space recreational vehicle camping area to be located on
Eric Lane, just east of Ponderosa Road.
Planners will also hear a report from actions taken at the late June meeting
of the Halifax County Supervisors who approved three conditional use permits
with conditions — that of Christopher Easley in ED#3 for an automotive body
repair and paint shop; another for Tom and Mary Pittard in ED#4 for an
automotive repair service and the Tony Powell recycling permit in ED#2. The
Powell request for a rezoning was also approved.
Supervisors delayed taking action on a request from Mac Ragans for a
conditional use permit and rezoning in ED#6 which would allow for a
recycling operation on State Route 704.
Planners are expected to schedule a date for a public hearing, likely to be
held with County Supervisors, on the proposed Comprehensive Plan for the
county.
