The Halifax County Sheriff's Department is continuing to investigate
several larcenies which have taken place recently across the county.
  Deputy Sam Gilliam is investigating a break-in at Supply Line on US
Route 58 which occurred on Saturday, September 15. The glass in the
front door was broken out, allowing entry into the building. An unknown
quantity of Newport cigarettes was taken from the business.
In yet another grand larceny incident, Deputy David Irby is
investigating the theft of jewelry, radio equipment, household items,
tools, a weedeater, an air compressor, a chain saw, DVD's, cameras and
a kerosene heater which were taken from the home of Timothy Puryear on
Link-Puryear Road, South Boston on Saturday, September 15.
Also Deputy Keith Redd is investigating the theft of a 1993 nine horse
power outboard motor which was taken from a boat located at the
residence of Ernie Davis on Bull Creek Road, Nathalie on September 5.
Finally Deputy Danny Martin is investigating the theft of a Honda 250R
four wheeler taken from the home of Willard Lowery of Cluster Springs
Road, South Boston on September 10.
