There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday morning, October 4
at 11 a.m. for the newly completed King Village Trail roadway. William
Fitzgerald, chairman of the Halifax County Board of Supervisors,
confirmed yesterday that the contractor has completed  work on bringing
the road up to state standards.
Work began on the winding and gutted road on August 20 with a
completion date set for December 15, although highway officials had
predicted an earlier finishing time, weather permitting. Residents of
the road said they are very excited, and grateful for, the
improvements.
