Halifax County schools closed again; Mecklenburg County on two-hour delay

SoVaNow.com / January 18, 2011
Halifax County Public School are closed again Tuesday due to weather.

Eleven- and 12-month employees adhere to Code 3.

Schools have been closed since Jan. 11 due to weather and the scheduled state Lee-Jackson holiday on Friday and the federal Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday.

Schools were originally opening two-hours late due to freezing rain and slick roads. School officials later closed schools after road conditions failed to improve.

In Mecklenburg County, due to icy conditions on secondary roads, Mecklenburg County Public Schools will operate on a 2 hour delay Tuesday, Jan. 18. Twelve month employees should report at 9:30 a.m..
