Sports Lady Comets face busy week, three WVD games in three daysThe News & Record / February 08, 2010
The Halifax County High School girls’ basketball team, now 14-3 overall and in second place in the district at 3-1, has a very demanding week ahead.The Comet girls host GW-Danville tonight. Then, the Comets travel to Rocky Mount Tuesday for another key district game. Finally, the Comets play their third straight game on Wednesday night at home against William Fleming. Comet athletics director Allen Lawter said yesterday the PH game is yet to be rescheduled. The season finale against E.C. Glass, a non-district game, will not be played, due to conflicts impacting both programs. |

South Boston Speedway will crank up the 2010 season Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. with the running of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Twin 75's race program.
