Dear Viewpoint:As a long-time resident, I am saddened to see so many people turn their backs on a wonderful opportunity for our community. The mining of uranium at Coles Hill will provide us with the necessary jobs and tax base to allow our children to stay here instead of having to move away to make a living. I want Pittsylvania County to become a thriving community again. Chatham just announced they plan on increasing taxes. We cannot continue along the path we are on. We need jobs, we need taxes.
