Opinion In praise of the YMCAThe News & Record / February 04, 2010
Dear Viewpoint:I’m writing to give a general praise to our local YMCA. This praise is not only for the director, Marcus Hargrave, and the associate director, Suzanne Wallace, but it is also for all other staff from fitness to swimming to housekeeping. Like many other organizations in our area, the YMCA has had its trials and tribulations, yet it continues to succeed and to grow. In the past few years the Y has updated the fitness area, added children’s programs, improved the pool area. I realize the Y continues to have its faults, as does any organization striving to please the public; however, I believe as a whole that the YMCA is a well run organization and that it does not get enough praise or encouragement. So, as stated in the beginning, this letter is to praise and applaud all the staff at our local YMCA. I’m sure the Y welcomes all constructive ideas for improvements as well as praise and support for the good work being done through our local organization. Sincerely, Jenny B. Witko MS, RD, RN |
