Dear Viewpoint:“OWE BAMA HEALTH CARE” - The Democrat’s Health Care Summit, with President Obama, Pelosi and Reid went into this fiasco knowing that nothing would come out of it. The Democrats looked as if they had rather be at a hemorrhoid convention than be forced to listen to what the Republicans had to say. The current government is determined to control all of us and will do so at any cost. Everyday they take another one of our freedom of choices away. Obama’s involvement in the summit made him look more like a dictator than a president. Apparently he needs a legacy so he can be “historic” again. He’s historic alright, the very worse president in our history. Jimmy Carter is looking better and better everyday. What the health care summit clarified, once again, is that he is determined to continue a dictatorship attitude. No matter what “WE THE PEOPLE’ want Democrats are determined to shove health care legislation down the throats of the American people. ‘WE THE PEOPLE’ will answer in the next election. We are a free people, we want no mandates, no bankrupting America, no controlling our health care. We said STOP. What don’t the Democrats understand. My senators and congressmen here in Virginia have been informed that they no longer have my vote or support. This summit was another campaign show for Obama. He continues to board Air Force One flying here and there campaigning every week wasting our money. I was appalled and angered by the way Obama insulted John McCain. It gave Obama a chance to admit he did not intend to fill his campaign promises when he told John McCain “we are not campaigning, the election is over.” As nasty as his verbal response was his disgusting facial expression was even worse. He got his “extra” moment on camera, but at a cost. I was proud of the “statesmanship” shown by the Republicans. It was really refreshing. They showed they have been listening to the American people and willing to stand up for us. We must have term limits, legislative bill reform, balanced budget amendments and laws prohibiting pork barrel politics and earmarks. Is there anyone in Washington with common sense? I simply do not believe people with the best interest of America could be STUPID enough to conjure up and implement the totally simple-minded health care bill they are pushing using heavy handed tactics to pass health reform. It is the most disastrous thing they could possibly do. “Americans do not want a trillion dollar government takeover of health care stuffed with tax hikes, medicare cuts and giveaways to Washington special interests” Boehner said. “Not today, not tomorrow, not ever.” Reconciliation was established in 1974 to make it easy for Congress to adjust taxes and spending. Robert Byrd (D-WV) one of the original authors of the reconciliation rule explained “Reconciliation was introduced to adjust revenue and spending levels in order to reduce deficits-it was not designed to re-structure the entire health care system”. Talk about props. How about his speech on March 3, with all those “doctors” in white lab coats standing behind him were the ultimate. How can anyone believe anything this administration says after all the lying and denying they have done. Obama ridiculed the Republicans at the health care summit for displaying props because they brought a copy of the huge health care bill. Then he lines up “doctors” in white coats at his press conference. Talk about props, what a hypocrite. Did the White House pass out white coats against for the “doctors”?. If Obama and the Democrats had spent half the energy on creating jobs as they have on the rotten health care bill maybe our economy and jobs would be improving. The idiocy of this government is too mind-boggling to comprehend. Congress has been stealing money from Social Security for decades which is why it is so grossly under-funded and medicare has been full of corruption and fraud. Speaking of abortion, I would love to see Obama, Pelosi and Reid and some of the liberal Democrats aborted out of Washington. Just one day, I would like to turn my TV and not see Obama’s face. I just hope in 2010 and 2012 we will elect a president, senators and congressmen that care about God, our country and the constitution. Let’s cancel “THE OBAMA SHOW’ Nancy M. Ramsey South Boston |
