Dear Viewpoint:Anybody that knows me can tell you that I am not an educated person. I do credit myself as having some common sense! I think our politicians have education and no common sense! We had better find out what our politicians stand for, they are sure not looking after the American people! Congressman Harry Reid is trying to give amnesty to the estimated 30 million illegal Mexicans that are in our country now, breaking our laws, getting our jobs, sappng our country of tax dollars, getting food stamps, free hospital use, free school. If they do get amnesty, this will mean 30 million votes for Liberals. If you like what our liberal Congress is doing with the country, then maybe that’s what you want. Our politicians will not make English our official language, so they print every publication form the government in every language. How dumb is this? Just think what it would mean if our government actually did their job and sent them home to Mexico. That could be a possible 15 million jobs in America that need to be filled. Maybe our economy would actually look better. Everyone needs to call our Congressman or woman and tell them where you stand on amnesty and anything else. Our President said on one of the debates that health care wouldn’t cost us a cent! He would stop all the fraud in social security, Medicaid and Medicare. How can they stop this, especially since they don’t even try! Well, we all know how that went, the liberals decided this behind closed doors. Mr. Obama also said that he wanted to educate the world’s children. It is a shame we can’t give proper education to American children. Mr. Obama also said he would get jobs to America. He may have actually done this by making government bigger. That didn’t help us but will cost more in taxes to keep up. Without their Free Trade, more Americans were working. Those that were working were paying federal taxes, local taxes, state taxes, paying bills, buying new products which meant businesses were surviving and paying their bills. I guess most people have heard that what goes around, comes around. This makes sense to me. This brings me to our local town council members. Back on the meeting to adopt the Comprehensive Plan and the plans for Riverdale, the council members voted to accept this plan. All present voted yes, no discussion. I got the feeling that this was already decided long before this meeting! I feel we have the same problem locally as we do at the federal level, taxation without representation. These people don’t represent us. They do their own thing, doesn’t matter what we think! We do not need politicians who think that their only purpose is to find news to raise taxes. Now is not the time to cost people more. In my business I would not raise prices now with everyone having serious fears for their future. With town council’s vote, I really feel 501 Riverdale businesses got screwed. What can be done to fix this problem? Get them out. We must look hard to find people with our own views! We need to go back to basics. My wife and I used to eat out every Saturday night. That has stopped because of poor business. We need to stop now this crazy spending in government. We can’t afford it!
