Dear Viewpoint:

We have received many raves about our recent Bland Memorial Music Contest at The Prizery. We had almost a full house and collected 247 pairs of used glasses. On behalf of the South Boston Lions Club, and for myself personally, I want to thank Chris Jones, Executive Director of The Prizery; Lion Ernelle Bellamy, Technical Director at The Prizery; Betty Woods of The Prizery; Carlos Bardales, Elvira Green, Dr. James Kidd, and Dr. Lisa Kinzer, judges; both newspapers for their gracious and excellent coverage; music teachers too numerous to mention; Tim Knowlson and Dennis Dawson, entertainers; Barbara Cage and Margaret Moorefield, owners of the AAA 3-Diamond-rated Bistro 1888; Vicky Allen of Atlantic Medical, Inc.; Lions too numerous to mention; contestants; parents; accompanists; and members of the audience for their contributions.

Again, thank you to the community for your devotion to music and youth and for your assistance to the South Boston Lions Club.

Yours in Lionism,
MaLinda Crawley, President
