She is survived by four sons, James Aubrey Anderson and wife and Anne of Buffalo Junction, Jackie C. Anderson and wife Judy of Nathalie, David Ray Anderson of Nathalie, Ricky Lynn Anderson and wife Betty of Nathalie; two granddaughters, Elizabeth A. Jones and husband Steve, Susan A. Williams and husband Mark; four great-grandchildren, Sandra and Sarah Jones and Sydney and Cooper Williams. She was preceded by death four brothers, Herman V. Conner Sr., J. Hilton Conner, Willis T. Conner and Grover L. Conner and three sisters, Marie C. Glass, Lena C. Glass and Amanda C. Glass. Funeral services were held Saturday at Hunting Creek Baptist Church with Rev. W.D. Mills officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. |

Notice of Public Hearing Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Section 15.2-1427 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, that the Board of Supervisors of Halifax County, Virginia will hold a public hearing at 6:30 PM during their Regular Meeting to be held Monday, December 7, 2009 in the Second Floor Meeting Room, Room 201, Mary Bethune Office Complex, 1030 Cowford Road in the Town of Halifax, Virginia to consider the following: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 54, SECTION 54-12, OF THE CODE FOR THE COUNTY OF HALIFAX, VIRGINIA, TO PROVIDE TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT ALLOWABLE UNDER STATE LAW THAT ANY AGRICULTURAL, FORESTAL, OR AGRICULTURAL AND FORESTAL DISTRICT APPROVED BY THE ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE AFTER JANUARY 1, BUT WITHIN 180 DAYS OF THE APPLICATION DEADLINE STATED IN SECTION 54-5 OF THE CODE, SHALL QUALIFY FOR USE VALUE ASSESSMENT AS OF JANUARY 1 OF THE CALENDAR YEAR DURING WHICH THE ORDINANCE APPROVING THE DISTRICT WAS ADOPTED; AND PROVIDING WHEN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT. A copy of the full text of the ordinance is available for public inspection on weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Halifax County Administrators Office, 134 South Main Street, Halifax, Virginia.
