Eugene B. Harbour

Mr. Eugene B. Harbour of 2119 Calvary Road, Alton died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at his home. Born in Haviland, Kansas on April 27, 1914, he was 95 at the time of his death. A supervisor with the Social Security Administration, he was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps and was a founder and lifetime member of the Semora Volunteer Fire Department. He established the Calvary Community Watch and was an avid golfer at Tuscarora County Club. He also attended the Calvary UMC.

Mr. Harbour is survived by a daughter, Jean Carton and husband Buddy of Baltimore, Md. and a granddaughter Cheryl Lynn Carton, also of Baltimore, a grandson, Jerry Carton of Winchendon Mass., two great grandsons, Andrew “Andy” Carton and Michael “Mike” Carton and a great granddaughter, Courtney Carton, a sister-in-law, Gray Williamson of Alton and a niece, Linda Williamson, nephews, Steve and David Harbour, Garry and Glenn Williamson and Donald Kemp and nieces Faith Doyle, Carolyn Williamson and Sherry Kemp and his best friend “Sweetie.”

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn May Williamson Harbour, his parents, Carlos Eugene Harbour, Sr. and Mary Exam Blakemore Harbour and a brother, Carlos Harbour, Jr.

A funeral service for Mr. Harbour will be conducted on Tuesday, March 9 at 11 a.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church with Rev. Mrs. Pat B. Toney and the Rev. Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Monday, March 8 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times at Breezy Oaks Bed & Breakfast, 2115 Calvary Road, Alton.
