Barbara Ann Stephens

Barbara Ann Stephens, 48, of Largo, Md., formerly of Halifax County, died February 24, 2010. She was born in Halifax County on February 16, 1962, a daughter of Lucille Dunkley Stephens and the late Willie James Stephens. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Glenarden and was employed by Prince George County School Board.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Marcus Stephens and Markese Stephens, both of Landover, Md; one daughter and son-in-law, Shemeka Houston and Namon Houston of Norfolk; five grandchildren; five sisters, Rosa Curtis, Carla Stephens, Jacqueline Jackson, all of Landover, Pearl Smith of South Boston and Maxine Stephens of Atlanta; two brothers, Willie Stephens and Andrew Stephens, both of South Boston; one sister-in-law, Sharon Stephens; one brother-in-law, Mitchell Smith, other relatives and friends, including Kenny Hager.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel with Rev. Glenn Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Garden Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 200 Glendale Drive, South Boston. Public viewing today from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
