Homecoming services opened with the prelude “I Saw the Light” played by Lee Snead. Call to worship was “There’s Something About That Name” by the choir. Rev. Doug Sasser had welcome remarks, announcements, prayer and led the responsive reading from Psalm 109. Hymn of praise was “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms.” Rev. Doug read Job 38. Special music was a solo by Lee Snead on keyboard “I Need a Savior” and “Man in the Middle.” Rev. Doug had joys and concerns, pastoral prayer and led the Lord’s prayer. Call to prayer was “I Just Want to Thank You Lord” by the choir. Offertory hymn was “Because He Lives.” Ushers were Tim and Eric Snead. Choir anthem was “I Love to Tell the Story” and “Victory in Jesus.” Rev. Doug read Hebrews 5: 1-10 and led the Apostle’s Creed. Hymn of preparation was “How Great Thou Art.” Rev. Doug read Mark 10: 35-45 and his message was “Precious Memories of Growing Up in the Church and Asking Jesus for a Favor.” Closing hymn was “This is My Father’s World.” Benediction was “Bond of Love.” The beautiful altar flowers were given by Gayle and Sherman Conner in memory of Madelyn Gayle Morris, Marvin and Phylis Ligon, and Nathan and Mary Thomas Ligon in honor of Maurine Ligon and Faye Edmondson in memory of Branford Edmondson. Tim Snead was acolyte. Lunch followed in the fellowship hall.Clover UMC choir sung at Clover Baptist Church on Sunday at revival services. Remember our sick and shut-ins, including Becky C. Smith, Bernice Bagley. Willie and Angie Privette attended a barbecue cookout at Clover UMC Saturday and Homecoming at Scottsburg UMC Sunday. Congratulations to Libby Privette on her second win in Kids Rookie Youth Car Race in Franklin County on Saturday. Juanita Smiley visited Maurine Ligon, Kelly McKinney, Mrs. Ricketts, Mr. Stewart, Lucille Cassada on Saturday at Woodview. Recent visitors of Hugh and T.T. Edmondson were Mac Edmondson of Victoria, Sandra Waller, Gladys Powell, Serita Carter, Fran Whitlow, Jason Simpson, Jason Toombs and Juanita Smiley.
