Worship service at Scottsburg UMC opened with the prelude “Sanctuary” played by Lee Snead. Call to worship was “Seek Ye First” by the choir. Rev. Doug Sasser had welcome remarks, announcements, prayer and led the responsive reading from Psalm 132. Hymn of praise was “Love Divine, All Loves Excelling.” Rev. Doug read II Samuel 23: 1-7 and had joys and concerns, pastoral prayer and the Lord’s prayer. Call to prayer was “Thank You Lord” by the choir. Offertory hymn was “Change My Heart O God.” Ushers were Tim and Eric Snead. Choir anthem was “Come Ye Thankful People Come.” Rev. Doug read Revelation 1: 4-8 and led the Apostles Creed. Hymn of preparation was “Fairest Lord Jesus.” Rev. Doug read John 18: 33-37 and his message was “Are You a King?” Closing hymn was “There’s Something About That Name.” Benediction was “Threefold Amen.” Tim Snead was acolyte.Worship service at Clover UMC opened with the prelude “Lead Me O Lead Me” played by Joyce Edmondson.
