Worship service at Scottsburg UMC opened with the prelude “Come, Christians Join to Sing” played by Lee Snead. Call to worship was “He Is Lord” by the choir. Rev. Doug Sasser had welcome remarks, announcements, prayer and led the responsive reading from Psalm 16. Hymn of praise was “Sweet Hour of Prayer.” Rev. Doug read I Samuel 2: 1-10 and had joys and concerns, pastoral prayer and the Lord’s prayer. Call to prayer was “Thank You Lord” by the choir. Offertory hymn was “Only Believe.” Ushers were Tim and Eric Snead. Choir anthem was “It Is Well With My Soul.” Rev. Doug read Hebrews 10 and youth message was “Observing the Speed Limit - Keeping Laws on Our Forehead and Written on Our Hands.” Hymn of preparation was “Nothing But the Blood.” Rev. Doug read Mark 13: 1-8 and his message was “Going to the Temple and Praying.” Closing hymn was “Have Thine Own Way.” Benediction was “Threefold Amen.” Tim Snead was acolyte.Worship service at Clover UMC opened with the prelude “Why Do I Sing About Jesus?” played by Joyce Edmondson.
