(For the week March 1-6)Worship service at Scottsburg UMC opened with the prelude “All on the Altar” played by Lee Snead. Call to worship was “Footsteps of Jesus” by the choir. Rev. Doug Sasser had welcome remarks, announcements, prayer and led the responsive reading from Psalm 27. Hymn of praise was “Be Thou My Vision.” Rev. Doug read Genesis 15: 1-12 and had joys and concerns, prayer and led the Lord’s prayer. Call to prayer was “Open My Eyes Lord” by the choir. Offertory hymn was “Glory to His Name.” Ushers were Tim and Eric Snead. Choir anthem was “Are You Washed in the Blood?” Rev. Doug read Philippians 3: 17 followed by the Apostles Creed. Hymn of preparation was “Nothing But the Blood.” Rev. Doug read Luke 13: 39-45 and his message “Jesus Died on Calvary for Our Sins.” Closing hymn was “Fairest Lord Jesus.” Benediction was “Bond of Love.” Tim Snead was acolyte. Worship service at Clover UMC opened with the prelude “I’d Rather Have Jesus” played by Joyce Edmondson and Mary Tharpe. Call to worship was “Surely the Presence” by the choir. Rev. Doug had welcome remarks, announcements, prayer and led the responsive reading from Psalm 27. Hymn of praise was “Be Thou My Vision.” Rev. Doug read Genesis 15: 1-12 and had joys and concerns, prayer and led the Lord’s prayer. Offertory hymn was “Until Then.” Ushers were Edd Edmondson and Gary Watts. Special music was a solo “One Day at a Time” by Gary Watts. Choir anthem was “Sitting at the Feet of Jesus.” Rev. Doug read Philippians 3: 17-21 and led the Apostles Creed. Hymn of preparation was “Nothing But the Blood.” Rev. Doug read Luke 13: 31-35 and his message was “Jesus Death on Calvary.” Closing hymn was “Fairest Lord Jesus.” Benediction was “Precious Name.” Acolytes were Summer and Megan Martin. Clover UMW met at the church on Monday with Sandra Snead in charge. Prayer list: Maurine Ligon, Hugh and T.T.
