A helicopter ride over Buggs Island Lake in June may have been the charm that clinched Microsoft’s decision to acquire the Boydton Industrial Park for a new generation, internet-based data center.

Microsoft has chosen Holder Construction Group LLC as its general contractor for the construction of an internet-based data center on U.S. 58 near Boydton, an anonymous local source said Monday.
