Lief to step down as VIR general manager

Sinai receives $600,000 grant for after school/summer programs

Sinai Elementary School has been awarded a 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant of $200,000 per year for the next three years. The funds will allow Sinai Elementary to provide special after school and summer programs for its students. Sinai is the only elementary school in the County to receive the special grant.

Dollar General continues partnership with HCPS

Dollar General announced on Thursday that it is partnering with Halifax County Public Schools to give three books to every child in all the County's elementary schools for the next three years. The donation from Dollar General amounts to a total of $55,440 with 8,400 books to be given to 2,800 students each year.
