approved three subdivision plats — two on the Hinson property which is
owned jointly by the Town and the County.
Their first approval came on a 15 acre tract on the Hinson property for
the Archaelogical Conservancy which wants to preserve an early Indian
site not far from the site of the Crossing of the Dan where Native
American lived before Europeans settled in the area.
The second subdivision plat will be for a 19 acre tract that the Town
of South Boston needs to protect its raw water intake area.
The third subdivision plat was approved for Lot 8A of the Houghton
Industrial Park where VASAP plans to build a new facility in the near
future.
