Halifax Town Council will hold its monthly work session this afternoon beginning at 5:30 p.m. in Town Hall on Main Street. Halifax Highway Residency Administrator Joe Barkley is expected to update Councilmen on the on-going projects affecting the Town, especially on plans for construction of a new bridge over the Banister River.
Councilmen will also consider a recommendation from the Town's Planning Commission about scheduling a work session on the proposed Comprehensive Plan. They will further consider a STAG grant application to be used for water and sewer improvements by the Halifax County Public Service Authority.
Finance panel members will report on the removal of the underground storage tank located near the intersection of Main and Houston Streets and improvements to the water tank which is no longer in use. They will also consider a lease for a telecommunications company to use the water tank tower for its equipment.
