Halifax Council holds work session tonight

Halifax Town Council will hold its regular monthly work session this evening, April 3 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in Town Hall. Current Affairs Committee members will receive an update from members of the Village Business Association on their plans for the June 21 Wine Festival to be held at the Mary Bethune Complex. They will also hear recommendations from the Town's Planning Commission on amendments to the C-1 Commercial Zoning District for a possible community market-farmers market, as well as for a veterinary hospital /mixed animal practice.

Once more members will review the success of the Town's Recycling Program and discuss a presentation they expect to make to County Supervisors at their upcoming joint session on April 21 about helping to secure a scenic river designation for the Banister River from the state Department of Conservation and Recreation. They will also hear updates on the Banister Bridge replacement project, as well as the Downtown Revitalization and the Telecommunications projects. The Finance Committee is expected to review the March financial report
and to receive a draft budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
