A 50 year old Nathalie man died at the scene of a single vehicle
accident on Sunday afternoon. Michael Ray Ingram was pronounced dead at
the scene when the 1984 GMC pick-up truck he was operating ran off the
left side of Hunting Creek Road, about two-tenths mile east of its
intersection with State Route 626 around 6:16 p.m., striking a tree.
Virginia State Trooper D.J. Cline worked the accident which is still
under investigation. A family member told the Trooper that Mr. Ingram,
who was westbound, was on his way home after cutting wood for most of
the day.
Mr. Ingram was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Damages to his truck were estimated at $1,000.
In another report from the Virginia State Police, 33 year old Esther
Sadler of Halifax was charged with following too closely when the 1996
Buick he was driving struck the rear of the 2002 Ford Focus operated by
37 year old Thomas Turbeville of South Boston. Turbeville suffered some
injuries, but was not transported to the local emergency room. Damages
to the Buick were estimated at some $2,000 while those to the Focus
were set at $4,000.  The Monday accident occurred on State Route 360,
about one-tenth mile west of its intersection with State Route 626 and
was investigated by Trooper Cline.
