Vandals take aim at Christmas Decorations
 
Members of the Halifax County Sheriff's Department have been
exceptionally busy this week with culprits working to destroy the
spirit of Christmas. Three Virgilina homes were hit by vandals
including that of Ronald Morris of North Fork Church where an
inflatable Santa Claus on an airplane was taken and a penquin riding a
train was vandalized. Deputy Danny Martin is investigating the
incident.
Deputy Craig Spencer is investigating two other incidents of Christmas
decoration thefts: first at the home of Larvester Puryear on Buckshoal
Road where a four foot inflatable penquin click her for more,

 two wreaths with lights anda plastic bear were vandalized, and secondly at the Hitesburg Church

Road home of Tracy Clark where a seven foot inflatable snow globe with
three snowmen was taken.
In other crimes Investigator Jimmy Clay has undertaken the
investigation of the grand larceny of the Bethel Ruritan Club located
on Hundley Road, Scottsburg where on Thursday, December 6 all the
copper, water and gas lines were taken from the clubhouse.
Also Deputy Sam Gilliam is investigating the grand larceny of the
Harvey Hall home on Mountain Road, Halifax where sometime during the
past week someone broke through the back door and took all the
appliances and most of the furniture from the home.
And following a later report, Deputy Gilliam is investigating the grand
larceny of construction tools and materials belonging to Charles Green
which were taken from a home construction site on Lakeshore Drive in
Halifax. Also taken were an air compressor, Dewalt drills and saws,
Milwaukee saws, shop vacs, nail guns and other building materials. The
theft occurred sometime over the past weekend of December 15-16.
