A juvenile driver was injured on Monday morning in a two vehicle crash
that occurred around 5:35 a.m. Monday morning on Route 501 about one
mile north of its intersection with Route 360. The Nathalie youth, who
was operating a 1993 Ford Probe crossed the center line of the roadway
into the path of the 2000 Ford Taurus, driven by Paulette B. Daniel,
59, of South Boston.
Paulette went off the right shoulder to avoid striking the car which
sideswiped her vehicle and then continued off to the left, striking a
pine tree.
Investigating Virginia State Trooper G. M. Gilliam charged the juvenile
with reckless driving and estimated damages to the Taurus at $8,000
while those to the Probe were set at $9,000.
