(For the week April 20-26)
Worship service at Scottsburg UMC opened with the prelude "He Is
Exalted" played by Lee Snead.  Call to worship was "My Jesus, I Love
Thee" by the choir.  Pastor Bonnie Pizzeck had welcome remarks,
announcements, prayer and led the responsive reading from Psalm 51.
Hymn of praise was "God of Grace and God of Glory."  Offertory hymn was
"Jesus Is Coming Again."  Ushers were Tim and Eric Snead.  Pastor
Bonnie had joys and concerns, pastoral prayer and the Lord's prayer.
Call to prayer was "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus" by the choir.  Choir
anthem was "Without Him."  Pastor Bonnie told the youth message on "No
Club Dues in Heaven" followed by the Apostle's Creed.  Hymn of
preparation was "How Firm a Foundation."  Scripture reading was from
Leviticus 27: 1, 30-34, Matthew 22: 15-21 and Pastor Bonnie's message
"On April 15, Deadline for Taxes."  Benediction was "Threefold Amen."
Missy Snead had closing prayer.  Evan Snead was acolyte.
Worship service at Clover UMC opened with the prelude "The Longer I
Serve Him" played by Joyce Edmondson on piano and Mary Tharpe on organ.
  Call to worship was "Jesus Is the Sweetest Name I Know" by the choir.
Pastor Bonnie had welcome and announcements, prayer and led the
responsive reading Psalm 51.  Hymn of praise was "God of Grace and God
of Glory."  Erin Snead read Leviticus 27: 1-a, 30-34.  Offertory hymn
was "The Wonder of It All."  Ushers were Edd Edmondson and Frank
Williams.  The Quintet special was "I Can't Even Walk."  Pastor Bonnie
had joys and concerns, pastoral prayer and the Lord's prayer.  Call to
prayer was "My Faith Looks Up to Thee" by the choir.  Anthem was "Rise
To Be Healed" by the choir.  Hymn of preparation was "How Firm a
Foundation" followed by the Apostles Creed.  Scripture reading was
Matthew 22: 15-21 and Pastor Bonnie's message "April 15."  Hymn of
celebration was "Rock of Ages."  Benediction was "Breathe On Me Breath
of God."  Makayla Vassar was acolyte.

attended the Halifax County Little Theatre "Smokey Joe's Cafe."  Donna
Bunn and Angie visited Lucille Lacks in the hospital Monday.

Hugh and T.T. Edmondson celebrated their 66th anniversary on Friday
afternoon.  Recent visitors were Juanita Smiley, Judy Rice, Nellie
Snead, Melissa Durling.
Michelle and Sierra Womack, Lauren Seate and daughters attended a Mary
Kay makeup party and cosmetic makeover hosted by Peggy Abbott Saturday.
Chris and Michelle Womack hosted a cookout on Saturday night for
Sierra's birthday.  Guests were Jack and Lauren Seate and family,
Stephanie and girls, Lucky Terry, Jason Toombs, Melissa Durling and
Faye Edmondson.
Happy Birthday and Happy Birthday to all those celebrating this week.
Juanita Smiley visited Mabel Seamster Saturday, Maurine Ligon and
Margaret Perkins Sunday, Mrs. Gladys Smiley, Mrs. Ricketts on Sunday in
Woodview.
