Michael Aaron Taylor
Mr. Michael Aaron Taylor, 54, of Nathalie died November 21, 2008 in Charlottesville. he was the son of Shirley Bogley and the late Hilbert Aaron Taylor.
Mr. Taylor is survived by one son, Robert Taylor (Becky) of Nathalie, his mother, Shirley Bogley of Nathalie, granddaughters, Amber, Aaryn and Avryl Taylor, two brothers, Robert and Timothy Taylor, all of Nathalie, his grandmother, Vivian Bogley of Frederick, Md., and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Taylor.
Octovis Mitchell
Mr. Octavis Mitchell, 90, of 1186 White Oak Fork Road, Virgilina died Monday, November 24, 2008 at Berry Hill Nursing Home. He was born in Halifax County on May 15, 1918, a son of the late Mr. William Mitchell and Mrs. Luvenia Cousin Mitchell. He was married to the late Mrs. Daisy Lee Jones Mitchell and was a member of White Oak Fork Baptist Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Ms. Dorothy Mitchell of Virgilina; two sons, Mr. Charles Mitchell of Halifax and Mr. Harold Mitchell of Durham, NC; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Emma R. Mitchell, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Geneva Redding, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 28 at 11:00 a.m. at White Oak Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Faulkner officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Lola Tatum Brooks
Mrs. Lola Tatum Brooks, 86, of Richmond, formerly of Scottsburg, died Sunday, November 23, 2008.
Arrangements are incomplete at this time. The family will receive friends at the home of Buck Tatum, 7018 Bethel Road, Scottsburg.
